A question that keeps coming back: why not take the plastic off. The short answer is that it is not mine. The long one follows.
Because it can still be returned
A piece with the film on can still go back. Once it is opened, it cannot. If I open it and it does not convince, the problem is mine, not the factory's.
What the film hides
- Reflections: any frontal light turns into a white smear.
- Wrinkles: they distort straight lines.
- And the important one: it hides the movement.
What can still be checked with the film on
Bezel, dial, markers, case, bracelet and clasp. All of that is outside. The movement is not.
The film does not prove the piece is good. It proves nobody has touched it.
When buying, ask for photos of the specific unit, not the catalogue model.
